Get your slow cookers and red beans ready - it’s time for DCPTA’s Homecoming Weekend Chili Cook-Off! We challenge you to bring your kitchen A-game to our cook-off to once and for all show your skills and compete for the title of Duanesburg’s Best Chili Chef.

This chili cook-off is open to anyone 18 years or older (if you have a child that would like to compete, please register in your name) in our community and in surrounding communities. We encourage you to spread the word and get as many competitors in on the action as possible. Registration is $10 per chili, and please note: you will need to supply your own slow cooker or CrockPot, ladle and extension cord. You will need to stay with your chili to serve it to cook-off attendees. We will provide sampling cups. Please have enough chili to provide at least 40 two-ounce servings. (10 cups of chili in total.)

The DCPTA Homecoming Weekend Chili Cook-Off is a People’s Choice competition. Attendees will be given three tickets each, to be deposited into receptacles by each competitor’s chili to mark their preferred chili. Tickets will be counted at the end of the event, and the entrants with the most tickets will be deemed winner. There will be first, second and third place winners, and in the event of a tie, representatives from DCPTA will select a winner. Winners will be contacted within three business days with information on procuring their prize. (Items donated by local businesses.)

Our registration is a two-part process. Please first purchase your entry ticket at https://duanesburgcommunitypta.memberhub.com/store/items/507641. Retain your order number from your e-mail and return to this website to complete the registration.

In keeping with safety mandates set forth by Duanesburg Central School, attendees should be masked at all times while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. In the event of eating, attendees and competitors will be allowed to take off masks provided they move away from chili pots and do their best to stay six (6) feet away from other individuals. Failure to comply with this policy will result in removal from school grounds and disqualification from the event.

Registration ends October 1 at 9:00PM.
