What We Do

DCPTA is an integral part of the Duanesburg school and community. While our roster of events and initiatives change along with the needs of those we serve, here are some programs that DCPTA funds, organizes and supports:

• Homecoming Week (including lighting the fields for night games, community celebrations, dances and Zombie Run)

• Halloween Bash

• “Quarantine Halloween” to bring trick-or-treat magic to children quarantined during the COVID-19 pandemic

• Veterans Day breakfast for local veterans

• Adopt-a-Family holiday programs

• Providing childcare at school events as needed

• Purchasing emergency clothing for elementary school nurses

• Spirit wear apparel sales

• Shop Local holiday sales

• End of season sports events and scholar-athlete banquet

• Sweetheart community dance

• Community family bingo and trivia nights

• Spring clean-up days with Town of Duanesburg

• Cornhole tournament

• Grants to individual groups and teachers to support their programming

• Fulfilling teacher classroom wish lists

• Assist with kindergarten registration

• Meet The Candidates night

• District Appreciation Week (including luncheons, breakfasts and support for every staff member in the district)
